Every workplace has their culture, for some its dress down Fridays, for some it’s the grand national or world cup that brings people together. But if there’s one thing you should know about Smart Auction UK, its that we love the F1.

It all started several years ago when we had it on the TV in the office, no one really paid much attention until everyone was staring at the wonder at 10 cars flying around at ridiculous speeds, and the office has never been the same since. We are now all avid F1 fans, so were here today to go of topic and talk about something we love. So get to know our team a little more by delving into the world of F1, and our favourite course. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Although the track is not considered the most difficult, it’s an SAUK favourite due to its twist, turns and over taking opportunities, we definitely vote it the best track for watching! The map is full of twists and turns and just gets us really hyper when we are watching this track.

The track is over 5km long, yet the record for the fastest lap is held by Max Verstappen in 2021, where he made it around the track in an unbelievable 1m 26s. That’s an average speed of 156 mph!

The most wins however on this track have come from Lewis Hamilton (of course), but in the last 3 years Max Verstappen has been the dominator or this track, chances are he will win again this year.

The three practice rounds will happen over the 6^th and 7^th of December, with the qualifying also taking place on the 7^th and then the big race will be held on the 8^th.

We are counting down the 91 days until this spectacular event takes place. Its definitely the favourite sporting event in the SAUK calendar, and who knows, maybe one day the whole team will get to visit the track and show our appreciation.
