How much deposit do I need to buy a house?
How much deposit you need to buy a house is dependent on the type of mortgage you want to apply for. Residential mortgages require as little as 5% deposit, however, banks and building societies usually like you to have at least a 10% deposit for a mortgage.
Buy to let mortgages usually require 25% deposit or more depending on the value of the property.
