Why “Auction” is such an irrational swear word.

Many people don’t want to approach property auctions unless it is their only option.

In contrast, if someone told you they were selling their car in an international auction, you would immediately assume it is a high value, vintage car worth thousand and thousands. Similarly, if someone told you they were selling artwork in an international auction, your mind would jump to paintings and pictures of grandeur and people in suits with champagne.

Now, someone tells you they are selling their property in an international auction, and the first though is what? Perhaps the décor is outdated, perhaps the property is run down, perhaps they are desperate to sell.

These perceptions of property auctions have been drilled into your brain thanks to shows like under the hammer, where renovations or run down properties makes for better TV than properties that are already done and ready to go.

The hard truth is that 9 times out of 10 the property wont even need work, delipidated properties are not the only properties to go on auction, and investors and even banks buy and sell through auction because they have the logical capacity to understand that the benefits are far greater than selling through the traditional route. Quicker, more secure, free, transparent, chainless, no negotiating. Everything in auction is easier.

We have some properties worth millions, and some with quirky characteristics that would just be downright impossible to sell on the open market but perfect for a cash buyer looking for their forever home. People who buy and sell through auction are not constrained by the norms of society. If they see a property and they like it, they buy it. They don’t care if the property is of non-standard construction, a listed building, on a greenbelt or anything else for that matter, if it’s the right fit for them, it’s the right fit.

The best thing about selling on auction? Our buyers know what they want and aren’t afraid to move to get it. If they see something they like, there is no uhm-ing and arh-ing. No need to have a week long conversation with someone who lives in the same house to debate it. No need to “have a think”. If they want the property according to its looks and its legal pack, they will try to win it.

They also understand that the cosmetics of a property are unimportant, every property can be aesthetically changed to suit the needs of the buyer, no concerns about not liking the kitchen, or the bathroom needs to be retiled, this is expected at auction.

All in all, this word has been cruelly humiliated and made to believe that it is the lowest in a chain of poor decisions, when in fact in our honest (and totally unbiased) opinion, auction should be the number one choice for everyone looking to sell their property. We mean, who doesn’t want to sell their property for the right price, for free, within 28 days to a global network of investors? REALLY!

Okay then, so what’s the catch. Well, we need 3 months commitment off you.... That’s it. After 3 months, whether sold or not sold, you won’t pay us a penny. Even if we sell the property for you in the first 28 days, we don’t charge you, nothing, nada!

As the buyers pay our fees, we don’t have to charge you the seller. We maintain this because of the vast number of properties we have to bring on board in order to meet the demand for property purchases from our investors. Running out of properties to sell would be bad for business!

So stop treating auction like a swear word, and treat it like the blossoming butterfly that is it.

Investors already know it. Don’t be fooled by homes under the hammer or these shows that only show the worst that we have to offer. Fancy a new built apartment in Birmingham? We’ve got it. Or how about a newly renovated and beautifully transformed residential lighthouse? Yep, we had one of those too!
