Property Auction VS Estate Agency: What’ s The Difference

You may know of a few well known online-only estate agents that want to sell you the dream of selling your property for FREE. They advertise themselves as providing you a Roles-Royce service and promise you unicorns and rainbows, just to get you on board.


It is only until you actually go ahead to sell your property with these online estate agents, you find out it is not actually the best or cheapest option and the reality isn’t so dream and candy-like. It starts raining and you find nasty surprises and hidden fees along the way – and no one likes those.

Did you know that only 2% of estate agents openly mention their fees on their website?


These hidden fees can be:

·    £200 Fees for your property to be listed on webpages such as Zoopla and Rightmove

So, what are the main difference between us, and estate agency?


·        You can think of us as an add on. We pay for and instruct an estate agent local to you to deal with all the marketing, floorplans, pictures, viewings and negotiations, but we also reach out across our network of estate agents and individuals who are all incentivised to find a buyer for you.


·        Our timescales for selling are 28-84 days, essentially less than 3 months, where as with estate agents it is between 4 – 8 months on average.


·        We charge the buyer a finder’s fee, we don’t charge you any fees for selling, we even pay the state agent that we instruct to work with you. You only have to pay the legal fees associated with selling the property.


·        We market your property not only through the traditional routes, but also through our partner agents and our own auction site which has been running for almost 50 years. Our traffic has built up over the years, so we give you more exposure that the traditional route.
